I am happy to announce the opening of a fourth Trigo-powered Tesco store in London. This latest store is located in the award-winning Fulham Reach high-end real estate development, overlooking the famous River Thames. Fulham is known for its unique energy that combines the attractions of a big city with a neighborhood feel, making it one of the most popular places to live for families, young professionals, and even some celebrities.

These qualities are exactly what make the Fulham location a strategic location for Tesco’s latest hybrid autonomous store. While still in London, the Fulham store has shoppers with different needs than the on-the-go shopper which is typical of the Central London High Holborn and Chiswell stores. At the Fulham store, Tesco is catering to a new subset of customers who use the location for their weekly shopping trips, with larger basket sizes.

What is especially interesting about the relationship between the Fulham store and the other London locations is that it showcases how autonomous stores can have multiple touchpoints at different points in a customer’s day or lifestyle. For example, a customer who lives in the Fulham Reach development may work in Central London and grab a meal deal at the store on High Holborn during their lunch break and that weekend uses the frictionless checkout experience again at their local Fulham store to buy the groceries to feed their family of four.

This way in which autonomous stores can make shopping easier in different aspects of shoppers’ lives is part of the vision that has guided Trigo through our entire journey. Our partners at Tesco bring a high level of professionalism and ambitious innovation goals that constantly push our technology forward and raise the bar for autonomous store deployment worldwide.

What are the costs and when will I see ROI?

Our pricing is dependent on factors such as store size. The pricing scheme is based on a one-time fee covering hardware cost, plus an ongoing monthly software fee. Retailers who partner with Trigo achieve ROI within 2-3 years based on the following revenue and cost-cutting streams:

Increased CLV, workforce optimization, reduced shrink, fewer out-of-stock incidents, better product range, and less waste and more.

How long does it take to retrofit a store?

Trigo’s installation and implementation process typically takes a few weeks and is dependent on factors such as store size and the number of SKUs. The process involves planning, installation of sensors, software deployment, and beta testing.

We will train your contractors and hardware specialists, configure and deploy our system, and provide a dashboard to track system performance and insights. Hardware installation is carried out outside of store operating hours.
